I’ve been going through a lengthy inner transition the past two months. And healing from an extremely difficult end to a relationship with a wonderful girl.

A few days ago, after working long days, I had a question come to mind: “when will you know when you are better?” I immediately answered without utilizing my conscious thinking process: “When I pot plants”.

In Tulsa, during my free time, I began to enjoy planting various plants and flowers, most of them potted. The grand irony is that later that evening I had a passing desire to stop by Lowe’s to look at the flowers. I walked thru the isles, not seeing anything that spoke to me… then I found a small tree. It was a money tree, and the label claimed the tree was from Asia. Yet another irony, a “money tree”, money is one of the top needs of mine at this stage in life. As I’m more indebted now than ever before. Last winter was grueling financially, to practically nonexistent. Later I found a potted flower collection. I knew it was mine. I bought both and today potted the flowers and found a pot at Ross of all places, after following yet another fleeting thought to look at Ross for gardening items (they typically don’t carry any garden items, but to my surprise had pots for plants).

I’m grateful to see the underlying trends in the past two to three weeks of positive change and self-care. More transformation ahead.
